The QuadPlayer™ is a plug-n-play access device that enables the delivery of digital content directly onto a television screen. Subscribers can watch movies, surf the net, listen to music, log on to their favourite chat applications, and access all the rich media content that is now available on the Internet. QuadPlayer™ is designed to deliver media on television/plasma screens or to VGA monitors, as required. The QuadPlayer™ carries a unique identity that allows for targeted messaging and advertising and enables MSOs to access all activity carried out on the STB, for easy billing and statistical information gathering for advertising revenue generation.

Key features and capabilities:
Streaming - The video player is currently the only player to support live ASF streaming over the MMS and HTTP protocols on a non-Microsoft platform. QuadPlayer™ currently supports more than 36 video codecs. More information is available upon request.
Auto Upgrade - Software on QuadPlayer™ is upgradeable on the fly, eliminating the need to perform unnecessary “house calls” or send software on storage media by mail.
Virus Proof - Storage is always in 'read-only mode'. The QuadPlayer™ is immune to viruses as any downloads are stored on the RAM which is deleted once the box is rebooted.
Network File Storage (NFS) - Central storage over a network can be provided to subscribers to access applications and other updates that are hosted on the server. It can also be used as a secure storage area for personal files. Any processing of applications is done on the QuadPlayer™; as such a local hard-disk drive is not a requirement. Plug-ins, upgrades and related software are stored on the NFS.
Targeted Advertising and Messaging - QuadPlay™ Media has developed a patented system that allows Service Providers to direct targeted advertisements and messages to a particular individual, targeted groups of users or the general public, based on their preferences and interests. The system assures 100% viewing of adverts and messages and provides real-time data on subscribers.
Peer-to-Peer Messaging - Subscribers can send messages (images/audio/animation) to other subscribers on the network.
Popular Messaging services - All popular messaging applications such as MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ are included in QuadPlayer™.
Home Gateway (Optional) - Subscribers have the option of upgrading to and attaching the Home Gateway application and device that enables complete home automation. Subscribers can control up to 64,000 devices in a smart home via the Internet and can receive messages or other alerts from home devices.
